Apple aims to increase iPhone production in India to 25%: Minister

an apple plans to manufacture 25% of all its iPhones in India, the country’s commerce minister said on Monday.

Piyush Goyal, India’s commerce and industry minister, called Apple “another success story” when he spoke about business reviews in the world’s fifth-largest economy.

“They are [Apple] already about 5-7% of their production in India. If I am not mistaken, they are planning to increase their production by 25%,” Goyal said at the conference.

An Apple representative declined to comment.
