Caterpillar is working to turn old engines into new profits

CORRINT, Miss. – manufacturer of construction equipment The caterpillar wants to sell engines over and over again.

Every day the old, knocked down and broken engines of quarry trucks and compactors return to the factory to be inspected, disassembled and restored as new. The effort, which in 2021 required about 127 million pounds of recycling equipment, is part of the construction equipment giant’s push to achieve environmental goals and growth revenue from serviceswhich, according to Caterpillar, could also give the company an edge over its competitors.
