Amazon, Microsoft, Google Face Cloud-Services Examination in UK

The UK Communications Authority is investigating the company’s market position Amazon Inc., Microsoft and Alphabet Google in the coming weeks as part of a study of the country’s cloud infrastructure services sector.

The regulator said the three companies account for around 81% of the revenue generated in the UK public cloud infrastructure market and that their study will formally assess how well the market is performing. Ofcom said it will examine the strength of competition in cloud services in general and the three companies’ market positions, as well as any features that may limit innovation, growth or new players.
