The new venture will be India’s largest wet wipes manufacturing facility with capabilities to manufacture alcohol, pharmaceutical and cosmetic wipes. The facility is FSC certified, GMP certified, FDA certified, and ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22716:2007 compliant.
With a USP Class 32 purified water system, the facility includes a quality control laboratory with qualified and calibrated instruments. It also boasts a microbiology laboratory equipped with stainless steel (SS) doors and laminated panels, a ventilation inflow system to maintain an ISO 7 and ISO 8 class area and culvert boxes to avoid contamination.
The consumer products division of Ginni Filaments Ltd, an Indian cotton yarn, knitwear, nonwovens, apparel, wipes and liquid cosmetics company, will begin production in its new state. wet wipes factory at Panoli in Bharuch district of Gujarat on September 26.
New product development capabilities at the facility include product ideation and prototyping, formulation development and testing, packaging and graphic design, secondary packaging design and testing, formulary and legal compliance, product efficacy and stability, and engineering and sanitary design capabilities.
With the start of production at the new facility, Ginni will launch Chlorhexidine Gluconate Bath Towel, the first bath towel with 5 percent chlorhexidine under pharmaceutical manufacturing guidelines. Chlorhexidine has greater antibacterial activity than benzalkonium chloride. Chlorhexidine gluconate can kill 99.9 percent of bacteria and protect against skin infections.
Sanitary napkins are another product that the company is going to launch. These napkins are intended for wiping women’s intimate area. Using this product will prevent irritation, itching, pain, unpleasant odor, white discharge and infections in the vaginal area, as it will maintain the desired pH level of 3.5 to 4.5 and contains 1.2 percent lactic acid, which promotes the growth of good bacteria. According to the company, it is also enriched with natural extracts such as tea tree oil and sea buckthorn oil, which have antimicrobial properties.
The company is also set to launch Pure Eyelid wipes—a pharmaceutical-grade product—that helps remove makeup and debris and helps clean eyelids effectively. It also helps hydrate the eyes, counteracting the effects of demodex mites that can lead to blepharitis, according to the company’s brief.
