Getting personal. Kelsey Ballerini released her first album after the breakup Morgan Evans, May be changedon Friday, September 23, and she’s giving her fans an inside look at the ups and downs of her past two years.
“If I’m being honest, it hurts like hell to grow up … and it sounds like that to me. introspection, drunken conversations, tough friendships, jumping in with hope, owning a grudge, doing your best, discovering good things aren’t always grand, falling flat on your face, being a show pony, taking inventory of what I have…and in ultimately welcoming change when it comes,” the 29-year-old “Love Is a Cowboy” singer wrote via Instagram just after midnight Friday. “I’m proud of this record and the story it tells. here are my last two years and here I am turning the page. THERE MAY BE CHANGE GET OUT.”
– said Ballerini Yahoo Entertainment that she debated making the text vague, but ended up drawing on her own life experiences.
“Obviously, we’ve all changed a lot over the last couple of years because life has forced us. … And I feel like I’ve grown a lot in the last few years, in my twenties. I learned so much about myself in this extra space we were forced into,” she explained. “And I loved it May be changed represented my life. He represented each person’s life, and he kind of guided me thematically through the story I was writing. And so, we were just going back and forth, like, “Are we going to make it broad, or are we just going to make it about me?” And we ended up just digging into ourselves, very personally, to set the tone for the whole record.”

“They worked on their marriage for many years and even tried therapy,” the source said us at the time, noting that they “privately broke up at one point” before giving things “another spin” before calling it quits for good.
The insider added: “They eventually decided they had no choice but to officially split up.”
Ballerinas filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She married Evans in December 2017.

The “Day Drunk” singer released his own statement at the time, simply writing, “I am very sad to announce that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsey and I are separating. I wish it were different, but unfortunately it’s not.”
