Las Vegas motorcycle rider killed in crash involving teenager


2nd motorcyclist crash on valley roads Friday morning

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A crash in the northwest valley Friday morning has left a motorcyclist dead, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

The crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle was reported just before 10 a.m. on southbound Hualapai Way at Centennial Parkway.

According to police, the motorcyclist was driving west on Centennial approaching the intersection with Hualapai while a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 17-year-old, was initially stopped at the intersection facing east on Centennial preparing to make a left turn.

The two crashed when the teen turned left and crossed into the motorcyclist’s path.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

His death marks the 106th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.

This was the second crash involving a motorcycle and a truck on Las Vegas valley roads Friday morning. A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the crash on Flamingo and Sandhill roads at around 4:35 a.m.

The crash is still under investigation. No other details were released.
