Zac Efron is surprising people with his transformation in the upcoming Iron Claw movie … and he’s got the stamp of approval from a very important person – Kevin Von Erichwrestling legend Zack.
Kevin tells TMZ … it’s not just Zach’s image that’s getting the thumbs up … it looks like his daughters are taking part in the casting as well.
As for Zac’s physique, Kevin says it’s no easy feat — he told us it took quite a while to maintain that shape in his prime … props to the actor for looking so good.

FYI – the upcoming movie is all about the Von Erich legacy … featuring a family of wrestlers who broke into the game starting way back in the 60’s. With Zach, Jeremy Allen White will play Kevin’s brother, Carrie.
Kevin had little to no involvement in the film other than talking to the director, Sean Durkin, several times. He didn’t talk to Zach about the role.
Regardless, Kevin is excited to check it out … and might even host a family movie night in his backyard on Kauai. Ahhh, the island is alive!!!
